LAUNCH Ranks as the Top Network in April According to Arbitron's Internet Broadcast Ratings 05.14.03

NEW YORK, May 14, 2003 - LAUNCH, the music destination on Yahoo!, was ranked as the number one Internet Broadcast Network with 13,627,782 hours of Total Time Spent Listening (TTSL) for the month of April, according to Arbitron's Internet Broadcast Ratings.

Live365 was ranked was ranked the number two Internet Broadcast Network with 10,025,171 hours of Total Time Spent Listening (TTSL), the sum total of hours tuned by listeners to a given station or network. ChainCast/Streamaudio was ranked number three with 6,869,779 hours of TTSL.

MUSICMATCH Artist Match was ranked as the top Internet radio station with 1,252,021 hours of TTSL. Virgin Radio was ranked number two with 995,663 hours of TTSL. WQXR-FM was ranked number three with 964,362 hours of TTSL.

Background and Methodology
Arbitron debuted with October 1999 data as the world's first streaming media ratings service. In November 2002, Arbitron acquired a license to MeasureCast's streaming measurement technology and related assets. Arbitron's Internet Broadcast Ratings is a server-side measurement, which captures tuning to participating streamed media channels by compiling a near census of Internet tuning sessions.

As Arbitron's Internet Broadcast Ratings (powered by MeasureCast technology) transitions to a subscription-only service, some stations previously reported in the ratings have elected not to subscribe to the service and will no longer be included. The ratings may not reflect all tuning for the measured stations or channels since Arbitron may have received incomplete or unusable server data.

Notes:

1. TTSL (Total Time Spent Listening), sometimes referred to as Aggregate Tuning Hours (ATH), is the total number of hours tuned to a given station or network in the reported time period.
2. Cume Persons is an estimate of the total number of unique listeners who had one or more listening sessions lasting five minutes or longer during the reported time period. This estimate is derived using an algorithm that takes into account unique media player GUIDs, unique IP addresses and other variables during the reported time period.
3. In November 2002, Arbitron acquired a license to MeasureCast's streaming measurement technology and related assets. Some channels that had previously been reported by Arbitron before the acquisition may not appear in the current Arbitron's Internet Broadcast Ratings. Arbitron is currently working on reporting some of these properties and we hope to include them in the future.
4. Internet Radio Inc. is not reported in this month's ratings due to server communication issues.
5. Due to a change in Content Delivery Networks, Arbitron has incomplete data for WLS-AM/890 (Chicago), Virgin Radio and K-Love
6. The 128K stream for Virgin Radio/1215 AM & 105.8 FM is not currently measured by Arbitron's Internet Broadcast Ratings.
7. Clear Channel's audience data reflects tuning to fewer stations than prior weeks.
