Live365 Returns to Arbitron MeasureCast Ratings 02.27.03

Combined Audience for Live365's Top 25 Stations Ranks as the Number Four Internet Broadcast Network

NEW YORK, February 27, 2003 - Live365 has returned to the Arbitron Measurecast Ratings with the combined audience of its top 25 stations ranking as the number four Internet broadcast network for the week of February 10.

Arbitron measured the top 25 out of Live365's thousands of stations. Live365's - Top 25 network had a combined audience of 643,953 hours of Total Time Spent Listening (TTSL), the sum total of hours tuned by listeners to a given station or network. StreamAudio moved into the top spot with 1,366,223 hours of TTSL. MUSICMATCH was ranked number two with 1,323,120 hours of TTSL. Clear Channel Worldwide was ranked number three with 1,047,773 hours of TTSL.

MUSICMATCH Artist Match was ranked as the number one individual Internet radio station with 311,256 hours of TTSL. radioioEclectic was ranked number two with 283,365 hours of TTSL. Classical station WQXR-FM was ranked number three with 237,263 hours of TTSL.

Notes:

  1. TTSL (Total Time Spent Listening), sometimes referred to as Aggregate Tuning Hours (ATH), is the total number of hours tuned to a given station or network in the reported time period.
  2. Cume Persons is an estimate of the total number of unique listeners who had one or more listening sessions lasting five minutes or longer during the reported time period. This estimate is derived using an algorithm that takes into account unique media player GUIDs, unique IP addresses and other variables during the reported time period.
  3. In November 2002, Arbitron acquired a license to MeasureCast's streaming measurement technology and related assets. Some channels that had previously been reported by Arbitron before the acquisition may not appear in the current Arbitron's MeasureCast Ratings. Arbitron is currently working on reporting some of these properties and we hope to include them in the future.
  4. Internet Radio Inc. is not reported in this week's ratings due to server communication issues.
  5. The Live365 - Top 25 network represents the audience to the sum of twenty five of Live365's biggest stations. Arbitron measured the top 25 out of Live365's thousands of stations. Arbitron is currently working with Live365 to report the balance of its stations.
