Will I still be able to get the printed version of "the book"?

The current version of “the book” will not be available from Arbitron in printed form. However, Arbitron eBook has been designed in a printer-friendly format so that you will be able to easily print out and/or save whatever sections you wish, or the entire book if you need to.

How is Arbitron eBook different from the printed book?

Arbitron eBook contains all the information you’re used to seeing in the printed book plus a few new items. A major factor in its design has been the desire to make it as similar as possible to using the printed book. Any changes we have made have been done so to improve the experience of using it. So, for instance, you can still “turn pages” just as you might with the printed book. But because it’s now a practical matter to use color to delineate different sections of each page, you’ll probably find that it’s actually a lot easier to use than the printed book you’ve been used to.

What improvements can I expect when comparing the printed book to Arbitron eBook?

It has always been our goal to make Arbitron eBook as user friendly as possible. We’ve also done our best to make it easy on the eyes. That’s why we’ve used color to separate many of the sections in the tables. Maps are also in high-contrast colors. And finding your way around is easier than ever because of Arbitron eBook’s robust search capabilities.

Will I need training in order to use it?

Arbitron eBook has been designed to be as easy as opening a book and reading it. We’ve taken extra care to make sure that its look and feel are similar to the printed version you’re used to. However, we do have some online training options for you. Should you run into difficulties, your Arbitron representative and our entire customer service department are ready to help.

Will Arbitron eBook come out on the same schedule as I’m used to?

What information is available to me in Arbitron eBook?

Everything you’re used to seeing in the printed version of the book will be available in
Arbitron eBook.

Do the same copyright restrictions apply to Arbitron eBook as to the printed book?

Yes. Your access to Arbitron eBook is limited to your agreement with us. All copyright/sharing restrictions apply just as they would with the printed information.

How do I get Arbitron eBook online?

Arbitron eBook is available online to all subscribers at https://my.arbitron.com. Access to data will be secured via a sign-in ID and password unique to your organization. Please contact Customer Service & Support at 1-800-543-7300 if you need assistance.

What will my data look like?

Your data will look just like—and will include all—the data you’re used to seeing in the printed version. In addition, on selected pages you will be able to search by station and by demographic.

What about the maps?

Unlike in the printed book, maps will be in color for maximum readability. You can save maps on your computer desktop and print them out, just as you can with all the other information in Arbitron eBook.

What about multiple copies?

Arbitron eBook will be available to anyone within your organization to whom you grant access. Just as with the printed book, there are no restrictions on its internal use. However, the same copyright restrictions apply to Arbitron eBook as have always applied to Arbitron-licensed data; Arbitron eBook's use is restricted to licensees only.

What are the technical requirements for me to be able to use Arbitron eBook?

There are no specific hardware requirements since Arbitron eBook is Web based. You must have the following free items loaded onto your computer:  Microsoft^® Internet Explorer 6 or higher, Netscape^® Navigator 7 or higher, and Adobe^® Acrobat^® Reader 6 or higher

Now that you’re not printing books, will my Arbitron rates go down?

There will be some savings to Arbitron as a result of no longer printing books, but those dollars are being invested in part in the ongoing series of Better Measurement initiatives that you’ve been hearing so much about this year. Arbitron recently announced its largest sample quality investment in the past decade, in the new Response Rate and Proportionality plan. A series of ethnic enhancements were introduced in the Winter 2006 book. The efficiencies that Arbitron gains from eBook will help with our ongoing research quality initiatives and make our service more valuable to you.
