Business Continuity Plan Disclosure

Overview
This Business Continuity Plan Disclosure addresses some of Arbitron’s efforts to safeguard its business from disruption caused by unforeseen business interruptions. For years Arbitron has continually performed business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing as a part of its regular ongoing business operations.

With 15 offices in 11 separate U.S. and one U.K. location, along with various operations having been outsourced to entities operating in the U.S., Canada and offshore, Arbitron has been able to decentralize some of its critical operational processes among multiple locations. This decentralization helps Arbitron prepare for unforeseen business interruptions on a location-by-location basis, a more effective strategy than preparing for an event that simultaneously disrupts the entire company’s operations, since it is unlikely a single event would affect more than one location.

Communication with Clients and Employees in the Event of a Disruption
In the event of an emergency or significant business disruption, clients can obtain up-to-date information regarding Arbitron’s operating status from www.arbitron.com. If the outage affects the Arbitron Web site, clients and employees can obtain information regarding Arbitron operating status by dialing (866) 292-6089 until the Web site is restored. Arbitron employees will also be kept informed through other appropriate communication means dependent on the nature of the event.

Redundancy and Backup of Critical Systems and Data
Arbitron utilizes specialized vendors to provide offsite data storage and disaster recovery services for Arbitron’s critical automated processes. Further, Arbitron has implemented backup computer systems that provide redundancy of work-in-progress and vital records for certain of its labor-intensive processes.

Disclaimer
Arbitron’s business continuity plan is designed to permit Arbitron to fulfill its obligations to its clients in the event of an emergency. However, such emergency events are, by their very nature, unpredictable and, despite Arbitron’s many efforts, any such event may cause a business disruption to Arbitron’s business and/or to a third-party business that Arbitron relies upon to produce the Arbitron services.

Arbitron’s business continuity plan is subject to change without notice. In the event that such change would require an update to this Disclosure, the updated Disclosure document will be made available at www.arbitron.com. Hard copies are also available upon e-mail request from businesscontinuity@arbitron.com.

The information contained in this disclosure is provided by Arbitron for informational purposes only. Nothing contained herein shall be construed to amend, supplement or otherwise modify any of the terms and conditions set forth in any agreement between Arbitron and its clients.
