Reporting HD-Multicasts and Radio Station Streams

A new system for processing Diary estimates has enabled Arbitron to include listening to HD-multicasts and Internet streams of radio stations that meet minimum reporting standards.
HD-multicast and Internet listening that meets minimum reporting standards is now included in the Radio Market Reports services.
For details on how the Diary service reflects the new ways survey respondents listen to radio, visit my.arbitron.com.
Cell Phone Sampling

More In-Tab than ever now comes from cell phone households. As of the Fall survey, they account for an average of 20% of In-Tab across the aggregate of markets. That’s double the amount from 2009 when cell phone sampling began.
This sample now includes households that rarely or never answer their landlines in addition to those with no landline or cell-phone-only households. The cell phone sample is critical for measuring the listening of 18-34 and 35-44 year olds.
Sample Performance Benchmarks
To deliver the demos that count most with advertisers, Arbitron has established sample performance benchmarks for persons aged 18-54 and for persons aged 18-34. If the sample falls below either of these benchmarks in a given market/survey, Arbitron will work to bring the sample performance above the threshold in subsequent surveys.
The latest information on sample performance for each market can be found in the DDI reports that are issued at the end of each survey on my.arbitron.com.Young Adult Promised Incentive

Now, in nearly all Diary markets, households with 18- to 34-year-old residents are rewarded with cash incentives for returned diaries.
In the Fall 2011 survey, promised incentives for young adults were expanded into four-book markets with historically lower 18-34 representation. Previously, young adult promised incentives were only used in two-book markets.
And as added encouragement, a colorful sticker is now added to every diary to remind household members about the incentive for completing and returning their diaries.
